Overdrive Prototype 05/2022

Designed in coordination with Taylor Danley, this is the prototype of the OD side of the upcoming Boomstick OD/Gate pedal. The production version has a different Bite control but this thing still rips as you've seen in his videos. I'm clearing the other 4 PCBs out to help fund the rest of the Boomstick development.   

These will ship with the black plastic knobs. I’ll update the photo when I have them all built tonight

Controls

• Bite – The mid boost control contours the frequency peak from low mids (counterclockwise) to high mids (clockwise).
• Tight – Adjust the corner frequency for the high pass filter, rolling off the low end for just the right amount of chug and thrash.
• Gain – More on tap than the stock 808. This works in conjunction with the toggle switch.
• Toggle – Allows for symmetrical LED (high gain punch, compressed), Diode Lift / None (clean boost) or symmetrical silicon (dynamic) clipping options.
• Treble – Cut/boost the high frequencies.
• Bass – Cut/boost the low frequencies.
• Level – More on tap than the stock 808. This is your standard volume attenuator that allows you to set from unity or below unity, or crank it up for a boosted signal.

Power

• 9V Only – Use a boss style 2.1mm 9V only power supply. An internal charge pump will increase voltage to 18V for the circuit elements optimized for headroom and reduce noise.

Switching

• True Bypass – Soft click (1.1KGf) mechanical 3PDT
• LED Brightness (internal trim) – Adjust the brightness of the bypass LED
