This build spawned from @toxicholocaust_official and I talking about old solid state preamps. I liked his idea and it wasn't far off from another idea in my projects so it was a quick edit and here you have it. 

Based on the overdrive channel of an 80's amplifier this thing absolutely rips. But don't sleep, unless convinced otherwise, this will be the run. 

Which amp, while not hard to figure out, we are going to leave that a secret.

Controls

Name Location Description
Gain External Controls the amount of distortion
Level External Controls the output volume.
Start with it at zero, there is a lot of volume on tap.
Cut External Adjust the high end frequencies.
Shape External Adjust the overall tone quality. Low settings will provide emphasis in midrange whereas higher settings will notch the midrange, producing a more crunch-style sound expected for heavy metal.
Bypass LED Brightness Internal Adjust overall brightness of front LED.
Default setting at minimum (full CCW).
