At it's core was the Ampeg VH140c but don't be fooled, I couldn't help myself but to make a few [more] tweaks to better fit my taste. I have sat on this version for over a year when I started my amp and it’s what FleshRot should have always been. I found the circuit to be a bit darker than I prefer so first up was adjustments to the filtering. While I was in there tuning it, I have adjusted the tapers on the knobs as well to allow for more ease in dialing in your tone. I found the original amp to be a bit touchy on some the controls.

This is the one for you if you're looking for heavy death metal brutality to put in front of your amp or use as a preamp into your interface or power amp.

Tight External Tighten up that flub in your low end without thinning it out.

    Awesome pedal.

    Running into Orange Dark Terror and it's really killer. I was won over by yt videos of version 2 by TDS, Dome and others. I chose it over the SNK VHD and Airis Effigy, which are also excellent choices for VH140C fans. However, I loved having more tonal options especially dialing into different amps. I had an Ampeg SS practice amp that I should NEVER have sold in the 90's. The Flesh Rot V2 gets the tone I missed in spades. I cannot wait to run it into my Ampeg TL 1002 (also a Lee Jackson design). And now with the flesh rot v2, I can get the sound but avoid the weight & "vintage price" of the Ampeg SS140 / VH140C amp. Fantastic pedal. A+

    Blistering Suffo in box!

    I am always chasing high gain tones of my fav bands/artists and Suffocation always has my favorite DM tone on albums such as Effigy and Pierced...This pedal does it and MORE! You can dial in that grinding classic DM tone as well as sculped out some modern tight tones. Absolutely love this thing, best preamp pedal! I will be glad to buy more from ThisHeavyEarth!

    Better than Diezel Herbert

    I love the Diezel sound (I realize this is based on an Ampeg model, but they have similar characteristics). I almost always chose the Diezel preset on my Fractal FM3. Then I got the Diezel Herbert Preamp and that often was a high-gain go-to sound. Then I got the Flesh Rot v2 and there's no comparison. The amount of sculpting possible with the Flesh Rot cannot be compared, and it cuts through the mix far better than the Herbert. Nothing but praise. I have this combined with the Grim 3 OD and they sound great together. All into a basic clean channel amp.
